   "task": "LAB CHECK: aoci-code. Re-checked the v0.1.0-rc22 result (check_of aoci-code-2026-10-28.json) a different way: built rc22 from the tag's source archive with Go in an offline sandbox and drove the MCP server with the official MCP Python SDK client on a new multi-language repo with nested folders, Unicode and space names, and dummy credential-like files. Outcome: confirmed, quality 3 of 5.",
   "result": "partial",
   "blocker_type": "bug",
   "error_text": "What worked: the server (aoci-code v0.1.0-rc22) started, listed 9 tools, issued a 22-file batch, and the agent wrote all 22 entries in one update call; verify and check passed; search, get-entries and overview worked, including Unicode and space names. After an edit, a rename, a delete and a new deeply nested file, maintain named the orphans, remove-entry cleared them (and refused a non-orphan), and the next batch applied. Bad input was refused before any write with clear hints: an embedded newline with a fake section header, a duplicate entry, an extra entry for an excluded env file, a name that does not match its path, a path outside the repo, and a stray field separator.\n\nWhat broke (rc22): 1) The status command's deep option and the index inventory command both fail with 'This command or compatibility write path cannot modify Volumes v1 formal cognition' (exit 3), on a fresh repo and on a fully aligned one. New: the index score command fails the same way. Plain status still showed no drift after committed edits, a rename and a delete, so the CLI gives no working way to see differences on Volumes v1 repos. When drift exists, verify exits 1 but its plain-text output only says the structure is valid, with no reason (the JSON output lists the drift). 2) Index section headers store the absolute repo path. New: after moving the repo to another folder, verify and check still pass and new entries, even a new folder's section, keep the old absolute path. 3) Sensitive-file filter gap (public issue 148, fix only on the unreleased 0.2.0 branch and opt-in) confirmed and wider: besides prod.env, staging.env, app.secret, token.txt and api-credentials.yaml, the files .htpasswd, a service account JSON key file, terraform.tfvars, database.yml and a Kubernetes secret.yaml were indexed and handed to the agent to read and describe. 4) The main help and the AI help still say the AI endpoint generates entries (help fix is on the unreleased 0.2.0 branch).\n\nNot tested: the AI endpoint (needs a key), database indexing, host hooks, a real host app, the attestation flow, large repos, Windows and macOS.",
   "fix": "Use the MCP tools (maintain, then update-entry) and run verify with JSON output to see drift instead of the deep status, inventory or score commands. Before indexing a repo that holds secrets, add scope exclude rules for credential-like files and review which files are marked for reading. Check index headers for local paths before committing the index to a public repo.",

   "task": "LAB RESULT: aoci-code-2026-10-28. Quality: 3/5. Tested the official 0.1.0-rc22 Linux release binary offline in a bubblewrap sandbox with a throwaway home and no network. Tasks: set up a small test Git repo with the init command for a Claude host and ran the scan; started the stdio MCP server and listed tools; had the agent fill a 9-file description batch through the maintain and update-entry MCP tools, then ran verify, check, search, get-entries and overview; edge cases with a partial batch, a wrong source hash, entries missing required fields, and a file edited after indexing; loaded the local status page. What worked: Official v0.1.0-rc22 linux_amd64 binary (SHA256 matched SHA256SUMS) ran offline with networking cut. On a small test Git repo: init wrote the index files, AGENTS.md and a Claude .mcp.json; scan built a Baseline. The stdio MCP server (aoci-code 0.1.0-rc22) lists 9 tools. aoci_maintain handed out a 9-file batch, and the agent wrote the entries through aoci_update_entry (applied 9, aligned). verify and check passed, and aoci_search, aoci_get_entries and aoci_overview returned the index. Editing a file marked it stale, and one update re-aligned it. Bad input is refused before any write, with clear repair hints: a partial batch, a wrong source hash, or entries missing the R/A/S fields. The loopback status page loads, and the data paths tried answered 401 without the per-run capability. Needs no account or key.",

   "error_text": "Build details: v0.1.0-rc22 release binary (commit 0a0584f58aa823f8a18236dd8f181ccfbff3f184); repo main at 7fb2833680f2cf3a623a9e6269a7257917a8e32c (4 commits after the tag, docs only). What broke: aoci status --deep (help calls it read-only) and aoci index inventory both fail on a fresh Volumes v1 repo with 'This command or compatibility write path cannot modify Volumes v1 formal cognition' (exit 3). The index section headers record the absolute repo path of the machine that built it, and the project's own committed index shows its maintainer's home-directory path. The sensitive-file filter excludes .env but marks prod.env and api-credentials.yaml as index/read=true, so agents are asked to read and describe them (same as open public issue #148). aoci --help and aoci ai --help still say the optional AI endpoint generates entries, but the README says Volumes v1 repos author through the host agent only. Untested: the AI endpoint (needs a key), database indexing (MySQL/PostgreSQL/openGauss), host hooks, a real host app (Claude Code/Codex/Cursor) loading the MCP config, the attestation flow, large repos, and Windows/macOS. Prescreen: caution (young project with only release candidates; the sensitive-file indexing gap is already a public issue). No non-public flaw found.",
   "fix": "For entries rejected for empty required fields, put a dash in each empty field. To keep credential-like files out of the index until the filter is fixed, review the files marked to be read before letting an agent describe them and exclude them manually.",
