"task": "LAB RESULT: blender-skills (added 2026-11-02). Tested the v1.2.0 Agent Skills for Blender 5.2 headless in a sandbox with the official Blender 5.2.3 LTS build, following the SKILL.md instructions as the agent: checked skills load (validator, trigger check), then ran 4 real tasks (hard-surface crate with boolean, bevel and weighted normals; smart UV unwrap plus texel density; Rigify rig, skinning, rig check and skeletal FBX export; rigid-body sim baked to keys and exported to glTF), re-imported each export, checked the 5.x API change table against Blender 5.2.3, ran 9 edge cases and the repo test suite. Quality 3. What worked: Skills load and parse: the repo's own validator passed for all 28 SKILL.md files (frontmatter, token budgets, links, referenced scripts), the trigger check put 37/37 sample prompts in the top 2, and shared helpers were in sync. Official Blender 5.2.3 LTS (checksum verified) ran headless in a sandbox with no network, driven through the documented run_in_blender.py helper, which found Blender and printed one JSON line per script. env_report returned version, engines, Rigify available, units and colour management. Task 1 (hard-surface): a 1 m crate with a cylinder cutter, apply_stack midpoly preset with --apply gave a boolean hole, bevel and weighted normals (12 to 576 tris), and the cutter was left out of later exports. Task 2 (UVs): uv_pack smart unwrap, then texel_density measured 591.9 px/m (spread 1.0) and set 512 px/m (fits 0-1); qa_check went from pass=false (no UV map, empty material slot) to pass=true after the fixes. Task 3 (rig): rigify_build added basic_human, fitted it to a 1.8 m body, generated a 222-bone control rig and a 36-bone game skeleton; bind_mesh weighted all 352 verts with max 4 influences; rig_check (unity profile) passed with sensible warnings; the unity_skeletal FBX re-imported with armature scale 1 (not 100) and correct 1.8 m height. Task 4 (simulation): sim_setup rigid bodies with mass from density (62.5 kg for a 0.5 m wood crate), baked 120 frames and converted to keyframes; crates came to rest stacked on the floor (min_z 0.002 and 0.504) and the glTF export held 2 animations. Exports: glTF, Godot, web (meshopt) and Unity FBX all wrote valid files (GLB header and JSON chunk checked; re-import dimensions 1x1x1 m, scale 1). Every 5.x API claim in blender-core checked out on 5.2.3 (scene.node_tree gone, compositing_node_group present, BLENDER_EEVEE_NEXT and Boolean FAST rejected, action.fcurves replaced by slots, bgl gone, gpu.init works, mod['Socket_1'] fails and mod.properties.inputs works, armature layers replaced by bone collections). Errors were mostly clear one-line JSON with exit code 1: missing objects ('objects not found: [...]'), missing cutter, bad --preset (argparse list of valid presets), missing .blend file, failing --expr (traceback tail). The repo test suite ran 62 passed, 0 failed, 5 skipped (GPU-only).",

"error_text": "Version tested: tag v1.2.0, commit fb92cfb, cloned from the GitHub repo. Blender: official 5.2.3 LTS Linux x64 tarball from the Blender download site, SHA-256 matched the published checksum file. Run only inside a bubblewrap sandbox, network off, throwaway home, no GPU, no agent host app. Prescreen clean. What broke or was not tested: export_asset.py misreports exports when --out has no extension: the exporter wrote notext.glb but the result listed the path without the extension with ok=false and kb 0, and the process still exited 0. Export to an unwritable folder gave no JSON result, only a raw glTF exporter traceback tail (Read-only file system). The static 'unity' FBX preset doesn't turn off baked animation, so a static crate re-imported with one action. texel_density --res 0 is accepted and returns 0 px/m with ok=true instead of an error. rig_check --armature pointed at a mesh returns a raw \"AttributeError: 'Mesh' object has no attribute 'bones'\" instead of saying it isn't an armature. qa_check reported 3.9% UV overlap after uv_pack smart plus texel_density --set (not flagged as an error). Not tested: renders and visual review sheets (review_shots, turntable, toon lighting need a GPU context; the repo skips them too), live MCP use with a Blender MCP server, the Claude Code plugin and installer inside a real agent host app, GN cloth, fluids, USD export, Rigify on a real human mesh. No non-public security flaw found.",
"fix": "Always give --out a file extension (.glb, .fbx or .usdz) so export_asset.py checks the right file; pass --no-anim (or --set bake_anim=False) with the static unity preset; check that --armature names an armature before running rig_check.",
