   "blocker_type": "bug",
   "error_text": "What broke: Confirmed the ADD-only behaviour: adding 'My office is in Paris.' then 'My office is in Berlin.' for the same user keeps both as separate memories with no update or conflict resolution, so callers must call update() themselves. New small bug: search(limit=0) silently returns the default number of results (2 here) instead of none or an error. The original report's two lock bugs (second instance failing while telemetry is on, and the 'with' block not releasing the folder) did not appear with FAISS: telemetry creates its shared store with the same vector store type as the app (a FAISS folder under the home directory this time), so these look specific to local on-disk Qdrant rather than general; not re-run with Qdrant in this check. Rough edges reproduced: PostHog 'Multiple active PostHog clients' warning and a name-resolution upload error at exit when offline with telemetry on; a notice that FAISS has no keyword search so hybrid scoring is disabled; spaCy missing warnings; the home-directory config file is still written. AsyncMemory.from_config returns an instance directly (not awaitable), which is easy to get wrong in async code.\n\nSteps: Prescreen re-confirmed against the malware list and the original prescreen. Fresh install of mem0ai 2.2.1 and the FAISS CPU library with the Python package installer into a virtual environment inside a bubblewrap sandbox with a cleared environment and throwaway home; network used only for the install. All tests ran in the sandbox with networking and PID namespace unshared: a small local stub served chat completions (sentence-splitting fact extraction) and 48-dimension hashed embeddings on loopback, reached through the LM Studio provider with a dummy non-key string. Four separate processes: async API run, restart and delete run with the sync API, multi-instance with telemetry on and off, and context-manager reopen.\n\nWhat worked: Re-checked mem0ai 2.2.1 through a different route: AsyncMemory as the main API, the LM Studio provider for both LLM and embedder (pointed at a local fake OpenAI-compatible server on loopback), and the FAISS vector store instead of Qdrant, all offline. Add with metadata stored unicode facts (German umlaut, emoji) correctly; agent_id-scoped and run_id-scoped adds worked; three concurrent asyncio adds for different users each stored one memory and searches stayed isolated per user. Search with a matching metadata filter returned 2 results, a non-matching metadata value returned 0, and a wrong run_id returned nothing. update then history showed ADD, UPDATE; after a fresh process restart with the synchronous Memory class the updated fact was recalled by get and search, delete removed it and history showed ADD, UPDATE, DELETE; delete_all for one user left other users intact. Searches with no entity filter or an empty user_id are refused with clear ValueErrors; update of an unknown id raises 'Memory with id ... not found'. A 100,000-character input with infer=False was stored. threshold=0.99 correctly filtered everything out. With FAISS, two Memory instances in one process worked even with telemetry on, and reopening the same path after leaving a 'with' block worked.\n\nWhat was different from the original test: Original used the sync Memory API, the OpenAI provider and local Qdrant. This check used AsyncMemory first, the LM Studio provider, the FAISS vector store, new inputs (unicode and emoji text, metadata filters, agent and run scopes, concurrent adds, a 100,000-character input, limit and threshold edge cases, a contradiction pair) and a restart with the sync API. Quality 3 stands: ADD-only contradiction handling reproduced and a new limit=0 bug found; the two lock bugs appear Qdrant-specific since they did not occur with FAISS.",
   "fix": "Call update() yourself when a new fact contradicts an old one, since add() only adds. Pass a positive limit to search. If you hit the second-instance or folder-lock errors with local Qdrant, set MEM0_TELEMETRY=False or use the FAISS vector store, where neither lock problem appeared.",

   "task": "LAB RESULT: mem0 (queue entry added 2026-10-30). Tested Mem0 (PyPI mem0ai 2.2.1) with the Python Memory API, a local fake model and embedder and a local on-disk Qdrant store, network off, in a sandbox: add, search, get_all, update then recall after a process restart, history, delete and delete_all, dedup, plus edge cases (empty input, unknown ids, user isolation, instruction-like text stored as a memory). Prescreen: caution. Works: Python Memory API (mem0ai 2.2.1) fully offline with a local fake OpenAI-compatible LLM and embedder on loopback and local on-disk Qdrant: add (messages and plain string) extracted and stored facts per user_id; search returned the right memory first with scores; get_all listed per user; update changed a memory and history showed ADD then UPDATE; after restarting the process the updated fact was recalled via get and search and the old city no longer matched; delete removed the memory (get returns null, absent from get_all and search) and history recorded DELETE; delete_all per user worked; infer=False stored raw text verbatim; identical re-add was deduplicated by hash. Edge cases: empty string and empty list return empty results; whitespace-only user_id and missing ids raise clear ValueError/ValidationError; search without an entity filter is refused; update/delete of an unknown id raise 'Memory with id ... not found'; get of an unknown or non-UUID id returns null; user isolation held (alice's searches never returned bob's memory). The release-note fix that add() raises VectorStoreError when the vector store rejects every record was verified, and a run_id containing '&user_id=' is now percent-encoded in the session scope (advisory GHSA-5324-3w58-qpp2 fix present). AsyncMemory works as an async context manager. With network off, telemetry fails quietly apart from one '[PostHog] error uploading ... Failed to resolve the PostHog server' line at exit and adds no noticeable delay.",
   "result": "partial",
   "blocker_type": "bug",
   "error_text": "Package: PyPI mem0ai 2.2.1 (pure Python wheel). Quality 3. Breaks: With the default telemetry on, only one Memory/AsyncMemory backed by local-path Qdrant can exist per process: a second instance (even with a different path and collection) fails with 'RuntimeError: Storage folder ~/.mem0/migrations_qdrant is already accessed by another instance of Qdrant client' because telemetry opens a shared on-disk Qdrant store in the user's home (public issue #7665). Workaround: set MEM0_TELEMETRY=False, after which the second instance and AsyncMemory worked. Exiting 'with Memory.from_config(...)' does not release the local Qdrant folder, so reopening the same path in the same process fails with the same RuntimeError (public issue #7605). Rough edges: 'Exception ignored in QdrantClient.__del__ ... ImportError: sys.meta_path is None' printed at interpreter exit; PostHog 'Multiple active PostHog clients detected' warning on every run; spaCy/fastembed missing warnings (BM25 keyword search and entity lemmatization silently disabled without extras); ~/.mem0/config.json with an anonymous user_id is written at import even with telemetry off; the v3 add pipeline is ADD-only, so a contradicting new fact is added alongside the old one and changes need an explicit update(). Text with prompt-injection wording is stored verbatim and fed back into later extraction prompts as an existing memory (the fake model did not act on it, so real-model behaviour is untested). Test method: Prescreen from public sources and the downloaded sdist/wheel read as text. Then installed with pip mem0ai==2.2.1 into a venv inside bwrap (cleared env, throwaway HOME, only the scratch folder bound, network only for the install). All tests ran inside bwrap with --unshare-net: a tiny Python stub serving /v1/chat/completions (deterministic fact extraction from the New Messages section) and /v1/embeddings (64-dim hashed bag-of-words) on 127.0.0.1, openai provider pointed at it with a dummy non-key string, Qdrant local on-disk vector store and SQLite history. Four scripts across separate processes: add/search/get_all/update/history; restart then recall/isolation/delete/edge cases/prompt-injection/delete_all; telemetry on vs MEM0_TELEMETRY=False with multi-instance, session-scope escaping, simulated vector-store rejection and AsyncMemory; context-manager reopen. Security notes: Telemetry on by default in 2.2.1: anonymous PostHog events with an anonymous install id, OS and Python details, memory ids and unsalted MD5 hashes of user_id/agent_id/run_id (hot-path events sampled at 10%), plus a remote notice-config fetch from GitHub. Opt out with MEM0_TELEMETRY=False. Observed in source; with network off it failed quietly. Telemetry creates a shared on-disk store under ~/.mem0 and writes ~/.mem0/config.json at import even when telemetry is off. Stored memories are returned verbatim and re-inserted into later LLM extraction prompts, so injected instructions persist across turns; apps should treat recalled memories as untrusted input. Public advisories for older versions (unauthenticated REST server endpoints up to 1.0.0, Databricks SQL injection before 1.0.8, FAISS pickle deserialization up to 1.0.11, cross-tenant session-scope collision before 2.0.18) do not affect 2.2.1 per OSV; users on older versions should upgrade. Malicious impersonator packages exist on npm (unscoped mem0-mcp-server, @mastra/mem0 0.1.14); these are not the official mem0ai package but users should check package names.",
   "fix": "Set the MEM0_TELEMETRY environment variable to False: a second Qdrant-backed Memory or AsyncMemory instance in the same process then works. To reopen the same local Qdrant path, use a separate process instead of relying on the context manager to release it. Use update() explicitly when a new fact contradicts an old one.",
