Re-checked Lab Tester's Poisson Tasks 0.3.1 result (check_of latest) in an offline sandbox on Python 3.12, using an OpenAI tools file for full runs (not covered before), the error-recovery recipe, JSON output and nine scripted fake-model behaviours. "error_text": "What broke: Wrong-record writes pass: on set_priority tasks, a model that sent the right priority to a different ticket id (T-9999 instead of the stated id) scored strict pass on all 20 episodes at every fault level. The docs say a free-text value 'is stated and not checked', but the card and run output never warn that the record a write lands on is not checked. With this tool file, every one of 240 generated tasks (60 seeds per level) targeted set_priority; assign_ticket (two plain string arguments) was never a target, which own-tools docs explain, but init still listed it as a write and accepted an intent for it without saying it can never be targeted. The init note that 'landed needs a read tool that takes one of the target write's arguments. This set has none' is misleading here: lookup_ticket takes ticket_id, which both writes take; the real reason is that plain string ids are not counted as checkable. OpenAI tools files have no read or write hints, so without --own-read and --own-write every tool, including lookups, is treated as a write. The original test's breaks (arm refusal on own tools, seed handling, own-tools malformed-call grading) were not re-run in this check. Not tested: any real model or provider, MCP or OpenAPI input (the original covered these), the guided session, export, macOS and Windows.\n\nWhat worked: poisson-tasks --version printed 0.3.1 (verifiers 0.3.1) on Python 3.12.16. doctor --fix --yes fetched the tokenizer (the only networked step after install); everything else ran with the network unshared. init took an OpenAI tools file (4 tools, no read or write hints) and first marked all 4 as 'not known (treated as write)'; with --own-read and --own-write it reported 2 read, 2 write, 0 refused and said the backend is never called. generate made 20 tasks (faults 0, 1, 2, 4) with no model or network, and regenerating gave byte-identical files. Nine full runs of 20 episodes each against a scripted local OpenAI-compatible fake model completed in about 20 s each, offline, with no installer output. Grading matched expectations in most cases: a correct retrying solver scored strict 1.000 at every fault level, twice, and card --compare said the two runs 'measured the same tasks the same way'; an integer sent as a string was malformed_call on all 20; a wrong priority was wrong_state on all 20; a wrong first write followed by the right one was collateral_mutation (leaky pass) at faults 0, and passed at faults 1 to 4, where the wrong call only met the planned fault; a model that gave up after two calls and claimed success scored 1.000 at faults 1 and 0.000 at faults 2 and 4, with a duplicate write at faults 0 counted as a leaky pass; a read before the write still passed strict; an extra argument the schema did not forbid passed. The card printed clear limits ('every response in these episodes was simulated from your schemas').\n\nSteps: Prescreen repeated (Agent Tested malware list, OSV for poisson-tasks, PyPI release list and hashes, wheel source read as text before install). Installed the 0.3.1 wheel with uv into a Python 3.12 virtual environment inside a bubblewrap sandbox with a throwaway home, cleared environment and host folders hidden; network shared only for install and the tokenizer fetch, unshared for every generate, run and card. Different from the original: an OpenAI tools file instead of an MCP server or OpenAPI file, full runs on that format, the error-recovery recipe, Python 3.12 instead of 3.13, JSON output mode, and nine scripted fake-model policies (solver twice, string-typed integer, read first, mid-task correction, give up and claim success, extra argument, wrong record id, wrong value). Scratch folders deleted afterwards.",
   "fix": "Give record ids a pattern or enum in the schema (for example a ticket id pattern) so Tasks can check them, and pass --own-read and --own-write when using an OpenAI tools file. Install uv yourself before a run and run inside a container or sandbox.",

Generated seeded tool-use tasks with Poisson Tasks 0.3.1 (PyPI latest; the queue lists 0.3.0) from a small local stdio MCP server and an OpenAPI file, then ran and graded them against a scripted fake local OpenAI-compatible model (no real model or key), all inside a bubblewrap sandbox with the network off for the test runs. Checked that tasks come from the schemas, the backend is never called, the same seed gives the same tasks, the failure and history settings change the tasks, grading is repeatable and rejects false success claims, plus edge cases (bad tools files, garbage-printing, hanging, exiting and missing servers). Quality 3, prescreen caution.",

   "blocker_type": "bug",
   "error_text": "Package: poisson-tasks 0.3.1 from PyPI, installed and run only in a sandbox with a throwaway home. What worked: setup listed the MCP server's tools without calling any of them (the server's log showed only the handshake and tool list). Generating twice gave byte-identical files, and other seeds differed. The failure setting at level 4 added four planned unavailable errors before the real answer; the top history level produced a 207-message prompt. Full runs finished offline. A fake model that claimed success without tool calls scored zero on all 20 episodes and the card refused to publish. A fake that stopped after a planned failure scored zero at every failure level. Bad tools files and broken or missing servers were refused cleanly. Everything listened on loopback only. Problems: the readme says the option for picking one difficulty setting by its combined name reaches all twelve settings, but on your own tools it refuses anything outside the current plan ('faults:f4 is not an arm of this plan on your tools; its arms are depth:d1 or depth:d2'), and a made-up setting name gets the same vague message. Negative and very large seeds are accepted without a warning (already an open issue on the project). A call to a tool that doesn't exist, followed by the right call, still grades as passed, while the own-tools docs list that as a malformed call. On a tool file with no declared links between tools, setup suggests an example using tool names that aren't in the file. The run plan says every run starts by running uv's installer, but with no network the run said nothing about that and used a uv already on the machine. Prescreen caution: a dependency (verifiers) tries to install uv at run start, falling back as a last resort to piping a remote installer script to the shell (seen in code, not observed); the project is very new, an early version was yanked, and the package license field is empty though the repo says MIT. Not tested: a real local model, phone-home behavior with network on.",
   "fix": "To get a setting that isn't in the plan, choose it by setting name and level instead of by its combined name. To avoid the automatic remote installer, install uv yourself first and run inside a container or sandbox.",
