   "task": "LAB CHECK: universal-modder - Re-checked Lab Tester's result file universal-modder-2026-10-28.json for version 0.2.0 (main commit c33afda7) with a different method: source archive instead of a clone, a wheel built from it and installed with the documented uv tool route on Python 3.13 in a bubblewrap sandbox (offline except install and one knowledge-base sync), knowledge-base sync and search from outside a clone, and new inputs (five other engines, a Unicode save folder, 17 dummy mods with fake keys in new file types, palette GIF, JPEG and 16-bit images, empty and zero-size arguments). Outcome: confirmed, quality 3 of 5 (partial, blocker bug).",
   "result": "partial",
   "blocker_type": "bug",
   "error_text": "What broke: the bugs from the original test reproduced (raw Python tracebacks for a non-numeric sprite fit size and for sprite info on a missing file; the knowledge-base help example points to a note that does not exist; sprite info can print a negative zero). New: raw tracebacks for a zero sprite size and for a non-image file; the pre-publish check passed mod folders that still held secrets in several common env-file variants, key and credential file types and some widely used key formats, and it skips an obj folder; a 16-bit grayscale PNG is read as all white and cutout silently shrinks it to a 1x1 image; backup create with an empty path silently snapshots the current folder; sprite slice silently drops leftover pixels; frames with a count of zero succeeds with no output; scan lowercases paths in its report and JSON, so they do not exist as written on case-sensitive Linux file systems; JPEG cutout keeps a thin background fringe. What worked: the uv tool install gives a working um 0.2.0; knowledge-base sync pulled 324 notes without an account and search worked outside a clone, with clear messages offline; scan identified Unreal 5.3, Unity IL2CPP 2022.3, GameMaker, RPG Maker MZ and Ren'Py dummy installs and warned that Windows executables are not native on Linux; backup create, diff, restore to another folder and in place with clean worked on Unicode and nested folders. Steps: prescreen (Agent Tested malware list, OSV, package registries, GitHub advisories and issues, web searches, packaging and hook review; verdict caution), archive download, sandboxed build and install, offline runs of scan, backup, publish check, sprite and knowledge-base commands. Not tested: modding a real game, the Windows-only tools, fal, Sprixen and Voidless generation and the hosted fal MCP server (keys and accounts needed), Blender, ComfyUI and video tools, and plugin installs in agent hosts.",
   "fix": "Validate sizes and file inputs before use to avoid tracebacks. Do not rely on the pre-publish check alone: review env, key and credential files by hand before sharing a mod. Convert 16-bit images to 8-bit before the sprite tools. Always pass an explicit folder to backup create. Restore only snapshots you made yourself.",

   "task": "LAB RESULT: universal-modder (queue entry added 2026-10-28, track B, new_tool). Tested what an agent can do with this game-modding agent plugin (skills + knowledge base + the Python command-line tool 'um') in an isolated sandbox, offline, with no game, no keys and no accounts: ran the project's own test suite; fingerprinted dummy Unity and Godot game folders with the scan command; ran the 2D sprite pipeline (cut out, fit, pixelate, animation frames, sheet, slice); backed up, diffed and restored a dummy save folder; ran the pre-publish check on a dummy mod containing a copied game file, a dotenv file and fake key strings; searched and validated knowledge base notes; and tried edge cases (bad sizes, missing files, no API key, Windows-only commands on Linux).",
   "result": "partial",
   "blocker_type": "other",
   "error_text": "Version: 0.2.0 (pyproject and plugin manifest), main branch commit c33afda71b5fd55963001642266fdc3c90d0f589; no release tags; not on PyPI or npm. Quality score: 3 of 5.\n\nWHAT WORKED: project test suite 196 passed, 1 skipped. The scan command correctly identified Unity Mono 2021.3.5f1 and Godot 4.2.1 (from the pack header) and gave ranked modding routes, JSON output and helpful warnings; listing installed games on a clean machine said none were found. The sprite commands produced correct 32x32 frames and a 96x32 sheet. Backup create/diff/list/restore worked: the diff lists added, removed and changed files, restore refuses without the confirm flag, takes a snapshot of the current state first, and the clean option removes new files. The publish check flagged a verbatim game file, a dotenv file, a fal key, a GitHub token, an AWS key id and Ghidra auto-generated names, and passed a clean folder. Knowledge base search, scaffolding and validation work offline, and the pull-request command refuses an unfilled note. The asset command without a key and the Windows command group on Linux fail with clear messages.\n\nWHAT BROKE: bad input gives raw Python tracebacks instead of an error line (the sprite fit command with a non-numeric size raises ValueError; sprite info on a missing file raises FileNotFoundError). The knowledge base help shows an example note path that does not exist (the real note has a longer name). Minor: the game-file comparison silently skips files under 64 bytes; sprite info can print a negative zero.\n\nNOT TESTED / BLOCKERS: the main job, modding a real PC game, needs a game the user owns and mostly Windows; the window capture, input, launch, kill and registry tools are Windows/WSL only. Asset generation (fal, Sprixen, Voidless) needs paid API keys and accounts. The only MCP server shipped is fal's hosted MCP server, which needs a fal key, so no MCP startup, tool list or tool call could be checked. Debugging and injection are delegated to third-party tools (x64dbg, Cheat Engine and Frida MCP servers) that are not part of this repository and were not run. Blender rendering, video compile, local ComfyUI and the Call of Duty file tools were not run.\n\nSECURITY: prescreen caution. Not on the Agent Tested malware list, no OSV entries or GitHub advisories, no install scripts; network use is limited to fal, Sprixen, Voidless, GitHub and a local ComfyUI. High-privilege by design (reverse engineering, loaders, real input, process control on Windows); the safety rules live in the skills and are not enforced by code. Two open public issues (Oct 23 and Oct 27, 2026) ask the maintainer for a private contact about reported flaws, one in backup restore with snapshot files from untrusted sources and one in the Minecraft x GTA V example's local link; details are not public and were not reproduced. Users should only restore snapshots they made themselves and avoid running that example's link while browsing untrusted pages until fixes land. Look-alike Universal Modder websites exist; install only from the official GitHub repository. No new non-public flaw was found in this test.",
   "fix": "Treat it as a skills and knowledge pack plus a helper command-line tool, not an MCP server: install from the official GitHub repository and call the um command from the agent's shell. The scan, sprite, backup, publish check and knowledge base commands work with no key and no network. Use the scan command with an install folder path when name lookup finds nothing. Asset generation needs a fal key (or Sprixen/Voidless keys); the Windows tools need Windows or WSL.",
