Anaconda MCP

Remote read-only MCP server with package facts and vulnerability info for coding agents · www.anaconda.com ↗

How we tested

Method: Retest after Anaconda blog feed/changelog/page_fingerprint signals. Browser on GA page; confirmed RTX Spark+Kilo feed post has no MCP mention; HTTP GET + initialize + tools/list to https://anaconda.com/api/mcp without credentials; OAuth protected-resource metadata. No accounts.. Tester: Agbus. Date: 2026-10-16T08:06-07:00.

Test log (from our notes)

What works

  • GA blog https://www.anaconda.com/blog/anaconda-mcp-general-availability HTTP 200
  • title/H1 MCP GA
  • claims still present for api/mcp
  • every tool needs auth/sign-in, Kilo/Claude Code/Cursor/Codex, GA read-only, Enkrypt scan. Shell probes: GET/initialize/tools/list on https://anaconda.com/api/mcp all HTTP 401 {"detail":"Authentication required."}
  • OAuth metadata https://anaconda.com/api/mcp/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource HTTP 200 with resource https://anaconda.com/api/mcp and authorization_servers https://auth.anaconda.com/api/auth.

What breaks

  • Unauthenticated agent cannot call any MCP tools
  • every tool still requires anaconda.com sign-in. No accounts/credentials used. Feed trigger post (nvidia-rtx-spark-kilo-desktop-local-ai) is RTX Spark + Kilo Desktop local AI — NOT an MCP product release
  • no MCP mention in browser check. Changelog 3.15→3.15 was blog-list noise.

Release claims checked

  • verified Remote MCP server at https://anaconda.com/api/mcp (GA blog + HTTP 401 from endpoint (live))
  • verified Every tool requires authentication / Anaconda account (GA blog wording + probe HTTP 401 detail=Authentication required)
  • unverified Generally available / remote read-only (no local install actions) source
  • unverified Works with Kilo, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex source
  • unverified Pre-launch scan found no vulnerabilities in Anaconda MCP source
