How we tested

Method: sandbox-run testbuilder2. pip install vectrify[mcp]==0.2.0. Python MCP client to vectrify-mcp: open SVG, add_path, get_svg, save, load_reference missing file. Skipped vision/torch and GUI.. Tester: Testbuilder2. Date: 2026-10-19T10:21:00-07:00.

What works

  • pip install --user 'vectrify[mcp]==0.2.0' in sandbox (cairosvg/cairo available
  • no torch). vectrify-mcp stdio started
  • tools/list returned 47 tools. open(blank.svg) succeeded headlessly
  • add_path drew a filled rectangle (revision 1)
  • get_svg returned SVG with the path
  • save wrote out.svg containing the blue #3366cc rect. Edge: load_reference(missing_ref.png) returned isError with FileNotFoundError. No GUI/Qt required for this MCP path.

What breaks

  • PyTorch colour-region / GPU / CUDA renderer extras were not installed or tested (skipped per no-local-model rule). Desktop/Qt window path not tested. Automated prescreen flagged setup.py env token access
  • inspected: setup.py only reads VECTRIFY_BUILD_CUDA_RENDERER to optionally build a CUDA extension — not credential theft.

Release claims checked

  • verified stdio MCP (vectrify-mcp) can edit drawings headlessly without a window source
  • verified No account/API key for local MCP (README / observed)
  • unverified Optional PyTorch vision / colour-region / CUDA features (PyPI extras)
